Why Shop Online?

We're aware of the many concerns associated with online shopping. In fact, until recently, we've been hesitant to fully embrace the e-commerce experience ourselves. However, with the continued growth of sites such as Amazon.com and others, as well as our own increased understanding of the benefits, we've come to realize that online shopping has many distinct advantages over buying in land-based stores.

Reviews:

Hitachi's 10-inch compound miter saw is an accurate saw with a solid table and fence system that produces good results. The powerful 15 amp motor with an electric brake matches the saw's sturdy construction. The fence easily adjusts to square with the included wrench. However, at only 2 inches high at its tallest point and only about an inch high for most of its length, it isn't the best saw for cutting crown molding or tall stock. There are miter detents at 31.6, 45, 22-1/2, and 15 degrees on both sides, with a maximum miter of 45 degrees to the left and a full 60 degrees to the right. We found that the table holds its position tightly between detents, but the lever to lift the peg out of the detent slots seems a bit weak and unwieldy. The miter gauge is riveted on, but the numbers and markings are not in relief, so it may need replacing in time as the paint wears off, although the riveted connection will make that replacement a tougher job than it should be. This saw has a vertical handle, like all the Hitachi miter saws, rather than the horizontal configuration many people prefer. In all, this solid, reliable miter saw is designed and built tough enough to remain accurate under demanding job site conditions. It's a great choice for people who want professional-level quality but don't need to pay for the extra horizontal capacity of a sliding compound miter saw.
